Exhibited Work: CAS_05 Julia Mamea, CAS_12 Caryatid Portrait, CAS_V08 Deep Portrait: 12 - channel version
Duration: 6–20 September 2020
Event type: Group Show
Organizer: alexanderlevy gallery
Venue: K60 Wilhelm Hallen, Berlin DEU
In September 2020, Egor Kraft presented three key works from his Content Aware Studies series — CAS_05 Julia Mamea, CAS_12.1 Caryatid Portrait, and CAS_V08 Deep Portrait (12-channel version) — as part of the group exhibition K60 at the historic industrial venue Wilhelm Hallen (Kopenhagener Strasse 60–68, Berlin-Reinickendorf). The exhibition was organised by seven Berlin galleries including alexander levy, BQ, ChertLüdde, Klemm’s, Kraupa-Tuskany Zeidler, Plan B and PSM, and opened on 6 September 2020.
The venue, a former iron foundry offering around 3,000 m² of exhibition space, allowed for ambitious installations and immersive presentations, far exceeding the constraints of conventional gallery rooms.
Within this context, Kraft’s works engaged the theme of data-driven material archaeology, algorithmic re-construction of classical forms, and the overlay of machine vision upon cultural heritage. His presence was part of a broader selection of artists including Thomas Arnolds, Julius von Bismarck, Sol Calero, Guan Xiao, Nadira Husain, Felix Kiessling, Katja Novitskova, Navid Nuur, Anna Uddenberg, and others.
