Accessibility Statement
Last updated December 30, 2025.
Building for everyone is one of my core values. This means not just meeting requirements, but thinking deeply about making the experience seamless and even joyful.
Here are some ways I’ve worked to make this website as accessible as possible:
Working with experts with disabilities
Over the past year, I’ve teamed up with Easy Surf, a network of accessibility experts with lived experience who test with the tech they actually use in everyday life.
This custom accessible theme is the basis of all my creations, and it’s been tested by Easy Surf, who conducted a thorough audit including voice-over, screen readers, keyboard navigation and zoom.
Thoughtful design choices
- Font: We chose Aktinson Hyperlegible, a free Google font that was named after the founder of the Braille Institute. It was “developed specifically to increase legibility for readers with low vision, and to improve comprehension.”
- Text size: We chose generous font sizes to support legibility across different screen sizes and visual needs—20px for body text, and nothing smaller than 16px.
- Line spacing: We use 1.5 line spacing to support comfortable reading.
- Colour and contrast: Colours were tested to meet or exceed WCAG Level AA contrast requirements. This supports comfort and readability across a range of visual needs.
- Focus indicators: For keyboard-only users, we use Erik Kroes’ “Oreo-focus” design (two dark outlines with a light line between). This helps the focus indicator stay clear across different interactive elements and backgrounds.
- Cards: Following Heydon Pickering’s guidance on inclusive card components, we made our cards fully clickable so they’re easier to click or tap. For screen reader users, only the card title is treated as the link on focus, so they don’t have to listen to all the extra text in the card.
Known issues with WordPress
A few WordPress stock components fail some WCAG requirements, including the navigation block. They’ve recently added an accordion block which I’ve implemented but haven’t had time to test yet.
Every project is better than the last
This theme is the basis of every site I build, and every new component is tested by Easy Surf. As I learn and evolve, I update this theme and every new project starts with the best accessibility I can produce to date.

Always learning
Accessibility is never 100% and the work is never finished. Please reach out with any feedback or alerts of inaccessibility to hello@kunstudios.com. I will address them as soon as possible.
“I would recommend KunStudios to anyone who wants to expand their website to meet and achieve accessibility standards.”
