Personal Learning Advisors
The academic and professional success of our students is our top priority! All KWU students are assigned a Personal Learning Advisor (PLA) who is responsible for supporting and assisting students throughout their educational journey. We believe online learning does not have to be a lonely endeavor and we provide a supportive learning environment.
- To ensure that students adjust rapidly to learning in an online environment, all KWU students benefit from support and assistance from a Personal Learning Advisor (PLA). Few online universities offer this uniquely personalized service to students. At KWU, the role of the Personal Learning Advisor is core to our philosophy that the academic and professional success of our students is our No. 1 priority. It also supports our belief that online learning doesn’t have to be a lonely endeavor!
- Students first meet with their Personal Learning Advisor (PLAs) upon acceptance into a KWU program of study. Together, they create an Individualized Learning Plan. The plan aligns the student’s career goals and academic interests. It takes into consideration other life priorities including work, family, friends, hobbies, etc. This document is used to record the student’s progress and achievement throughout their program of study at KWU.
- Personal Learning Advisors motivate students to stay on task, address challenges, and complete their educational journey in a timely way. PLAs frequently reach out to students to advise on how to effectively manage or overcome organizational issues or personal time constraints that could prevent them from successfully completing their degree program.
Career Services
- KWU staff is dedicated to helping students attain their career goals. Career planning services and employment skills assistance are provided to all enrolled students and graduates without additional charge. Career planning sessions, in addition to online resume writing workshops, mock-interviews and seminars on job search techniques help prepare KWU students to accelerate their professional growth in the workforce.
- Universities, including KWU, cannot guarantee job placement for students and alumni. Successful job placement is dependent on many factors, including the motivational level of the individual, and economic conditions in the geographic area(s) where the student is seeking employment.

Key concepts explored in this course include individual trait theory, motivational theories, team building and group dynamics, organizational culture, change and conflict management, leadership theories and organizational structure, process and design.
Digital Marketing

Course Overview
The aim of this course is to examine the role of digital media in marketing. Throughout the course, students will explore how companies utilize e-mail, search engine optimization, social media networks, blogs, podcasts, video content and other internet tools in their overall marketing and advertising campaigns. Additionally, students will consider how the internet is impacting the way organizations communicate, price and distribute their products to customers. By the end of the course, students should be able to explain the tools and techniques that contemporary companies use to interact with their customers in a digital environment, assess online pricing options and implications, and demonstrate an understanding of the importance of managing one’s brand in an online context.
Strategic Management and Decision-making

Course Overview
This course introduces the key concepts, tools, and principles of strategy formulation and competitive analysis. It is concerned with managerial decisions and actions that affect the performance and survival of business enterprises. The course is focused on the information, analyses, organizational processes, and skills and business judgment managers must use to devise strategies, position their businesses, define firm boundaries and maximize long-term profits in the face of uncertainty and competition. By the end of the course, students should be able to analyze the main structural features of an industry, and develop strategies that position the firm most favorably in relation to industry. Additionally, students should be able to appraise the resources and capabilities of the firm in terms of their ability to confer sustainable competitive advantage and formulate strategies that leverage a firm’s core competencies.

Housing
Key West University offers 100% online degree programs. Residential classes are not offered as part of our curriculum, therefore, KWU does not offer student housing or any accommodation services.

Financial Aid
- KWU does understand the desire many students have to improve their future. This is exactly why we work hard to make higher education affordable for everyone. Tuition for KWU degree programs are competitively priced to meet the financial needs of a broad range of students. All KWU students who are U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents are eligible to enroll in tuition payment plans administered by TFC Tuition Financing. Currently, international students are not eligible to enroll in tuition payment plans.
- Currently, Key West University does not participate in national, state or local financial aid programs for students, including Title IV loans.
