Time Flys When You Are Having Fun

Oh my heck I cant believe it! This past month Cameron and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary! I cant believe how fast the time has gone. I feel like it was just yesterday that I was making all these wedding plans and worrying about small unimportant details, and just plain stressing out. Now we are just living life and having fun every single day!
To celebrate our big day, we took a vacation back to the same place that we went on our honeymoon...Park City! But before we left for our vacation, I planned a fun surprise for Cameron. For a few weeks before our anniversary, I had been making a list of reasons why I love Cameron. Once I had 365 reasons...one for every day that we had been married...I wrote them down on post-it notes. After the post-it notes were all done, I stuck them all over our apartment! So when Cameron came home from work he was welcomed home by all of the reasons that I love him. I had a lot of fun with this and just wanted Cameron to be able to see how much I love him! Here are some pictures of what our apartment looked like!

That same night after I got home from work to get Cameron and my suitcase for our trip I was surprised with lots of beautiful flowers! I got my favorites which are Gerber Daises, red roses and pink and yellow roses! Cameron really is too sweet! It was a fun surprise!

Now that our fun pre-anniversary surprises were done, we were off for our fun weekend in Park City. This year we were not able to stay at the same hotel as we did on our honeymoon, but did stay at the Westgate Resort on the Canyons Resort property. It was really fun. We spent the first night eating out and shopping for movies! We got a lot of fun things. Friday we got to sleep in and then went to lunch and shopping at the outlet mall. After the mall we got to go walk around Main Street and then ate dinner at Vinto. We just love that place! Saturday-our anniversary-we slept in and then gave each other our gifts to each other! I was so excited to give Cameron his gifts. The first gift that he actually got to open was a piece of coal from the Titanic wreck site. It is real and authenticated. He was so excited! Then I also gave Cameron a new suit as well. But I have to say Cameron went above and beyond on my gift! He surprised me with a diamond wedding band for my ring! I was so surprised when I opened it! I had no idea. But I am so happy with it. It is absolutely perfect!!
Image
After our gifts we went to breakfast at Kneaders! This is our guilty pleasure for breakfast. We absolutely love their french toast! After breakfast we went to the spa in our hotel and got a couples massage. It was the best thing ever and so relaxing! I for sure think that I need to get a massage way more often. Following our massages we took a gondola ride up the mountain for lunch! While I was sad to find that our favorite restaurant up there was not there anymore, we still had a great meal and a lot of fun.
Image
After lunch we got to go mini golfing! In other words I got to make a complete fool of myself while I attempted to put the ball into the hole. It was a ton of fun though. Finally after golfing we had dinner at one of our other favorite restaurants-The Eating Establishment! This place has amazing food and at such a great price. It was one really great day celebrating us!
Sunday our final day of the trip we got to spend celebrating Cameron's birthday! We slept in and had breakfast at our hotel and then went out to eat for Cameron's birthday. Its always fun to celebrate our marriage then Cameron's birthday back to back...its also a good way for Cameron to never forget our anniversary hahaha. We have had a really great first year! I cant wait for an eternity of years to come!

Summer Time Fun

Cameron and I have been busy having a lot of fun this summer! July was especially full of fun things. For the 4th of July we went to Oakridge Country Club with my family for dinner and fireworks. It was full of food, family and great people watching. While the food was not as good as usual, the fireworks were really great! I am such a fireworks junkie and just love going and seeing them-I guess I am just a little kid at heart. Luckily Cameron likes them and will take me to see them hahaha.

The next weekend we got to go boating with my family! It was really great. We went to Utah Lake and spent the day wake boarding, tubing, surfing, and getting some sun. Cameron was really great at the whole getting sun part. He was sooooo sun burnt! He was fire engine red for over 2 weeks! He was so burnt that he could hardly move or sleep for the first week. It was really really long week full of no sleep and orneriness for both of us due to that sun burn! But we made it through it. But despite the sun burn, we had a blast boating with the family and even got to go out on the tube together.
Image
The next week was a busy one! I got to celebrate my birthday with all of my family on 3 separate days! I was really spoiled by my family and got some new Toms, movies, a new swimming suit, gift cards and treats! But I have to say that Cameron really nailed it with the gifts this year! He got me the box set of all the seasons of Friends! I was so excited. He is the best!

After all of the birthday celebrating that week, Cameron and I stayed up nice and late on the 20th to go and see the premier of Batman. It was well worth the staying up late and being tired the next day. It was seriously a lot of fun and the movie was amazing. Even better is just seeing the awesome and sometimes strange costumes that people dress up in. But seriously we had a great time. Cameron loved the movie so much that he was speechless after the movie ended. He wouldn't even tell me whether or not he liked to movie for nearly a week after we saw it. It was just a great time!
Image
The next weekend we got to go to the Bees Game and watch some baseball! Even better is that there was fireworks that night too! Did I mention that I love fireworks lol jk. But really it was a lot of fun! We had great seats just off of home plate and only a few rows back. Somehow though, Cameron and I always manage to get stuck in front of the really annoying drunk people, but hey that just added to the adventure. Even though the Bees lost seriously bad it was a way fun night at the ballpark!

Its been a really awesome summer! We are going to be really sad when it is over! We are just having so much fun!

June Adventures

Yes I know that I am really behind and that June was a long time ago...but June was full of fun things that Cameron and I did so I am catching up the blog.
The first part of June Cameron and I got to go on our first vacation since our honeymoon! It was a well needed and well deserved trip. We got to go Arizona with my family for 4 days. Each year they spend 10 days in Scottsdale Arizona. Cameron and I were not able to take a full 10 days off of work, but did get there for 4 days to enjoy the sun, pool, relaxation and PLENTY of food! It was a really fun trip, just not quite long enough. I am sad to say though that I didnt get any good pictures of the trip. Maybe next year!
The week after our vacation was the week for the annual car show in Bountiful! Cameron and I love going to this and watching the parade of really cool old cars, walking around getting to look inside all of them, and the best part is the burn out contetst. It may sound kind of hick...but we really enjoy the car show. This year we got to go to the show with Tyler and Kristine! We had a blast with them.

Work had been especially busy during the month of June and I was really stressed out. Cameron is really sweet and took me on a picnic to the capital to help me relieve some stress and just enjoy a fun night out together. We got Subway sandwiches and sat on a blanket on the east side of the capital building! It was such a nice night and a ton of fun to walk around the capital after dinner. It was a great night and a great way to de-stress. Cameron just knows exactly how to help me relax and enjoy life!

Near the end of the month Cameron and I were enjoying a Saturday where we didnt have anywhere to be or anything to do. So we decided to go to the Gateway to have lunch and walk around the shops. Well little did we know, but when we got there they were having a huge chalk art festival. It was really awesome to walk around and see all of the amazing art and all the people involved. Even more fun is that they were having an Avengers themed festival. Cameron is a huge fan of superheros and LOVED the Avengers movie-enough to see it 3 times! Because of the theme they had some of the superheros there for the kids to take pictures with. Well Cameron and I decided to be like kids and just have fun and get our pictures taken! It was a way fun afternoon.

4,5,6,7...

Last weekend started in an interesting way. Cameron really has the great ability to keep me guessing and on my toes-which I love because it keeps life interesting. So last Thursday Cameron text me while I was at work and told me that tomorrow(Friday-4) was a big day and that we needed to bake a cake, and not just any cake but a round one. So I was totally lost. I had no idea what the occasion was. So I agreed to him making a cake and went with it. When I got home I asked him what the special day was and he told me that I would either have to figure it out or wait until the cake was done on Friday to know. So I racked my brain overnight. In the morning I still had no idea what the day was besides it being May 4th. So I googled the date and to my surprise the last thing that popped up was "May the 4th be with you." It was Star Wars day. So Cameron celebrated by baking a cake and decorating the cake to look the death star. It was a fun and interesting day to say the least. Besides Cake and Star Wars, I took Cameron to Training Table for the first time and then Cameron took us to see This Means War. It was a great "Star Wars Day."

The 5th was an awesome Saturday!! Cameron took me to breakfast at Kneaders! I am in love with that place and their food. They have awesome french toast for breakfast. So we enjoyed breakfast together. Then after breakfast, Amberly and Nicki picked me up for a fun girls day in Park City! We had a ton of fun. We ate lunch at Vinto and then walked Main Street, went to the outlet mall and then finished up the day by getting pedicures! It was way fun! Then we met up with our husbands for dinner at Wingers!

The end of the week went well with a family party to celebrate Marilyn and my aunt Diana's birthday! We had great food and had a lot of fun. I wish that my Monday had been that good though... Monday started out a bit strange. My neighbor decided to bake a ham for breakfast and then went outside to do work around the apt complex (he is the maintenance guy) and forgot about his breakfast. In the meantime I am starting to smell something burning. However, my windows were open and I didnt think too much of it. So as time goes on the smell gets worse and worse. So I started to panic and wonder if something in my apt was burning or on fire. I checked and found nothing. So as I was leaving for work, I locked the front door and started down the hallway to my car and found smokey hallways. Luckily he had found the ham, but not before it had caught on fire and made the whole apt building stink including my apt! Our apt smells terrible! Cameron and I opened all the windows, and had all the fans on and still the smell sticks. So we spent the night last night with the Fabreez trying to get the smell to go away. I had to do a large load of laundry for some of our clothes and our sheets that smelled badly like smoke. Needless to say it was a really interesting Monday. I am really crossing my fingers that the rest of the week goes better!

9 Happy Months

Cameron and I are coming up on 9 months of marriage! I cant believe how fast time has flown. It has honestly been the best 9 months of my life! Since I am the worlds biggest slacker on writing on my blog, I wanted to do a catch up post from the last 9 months to show what Cameron and I have been up to. September: This month was pretty slow. We got home from our honeymoon in time for me to start school. Yippee lol. We also attended a few wedding this month, including Tyler and Mandy's wedding! It was really exciting to see them get married and was a beautiful wedding. We spent a lot of time getting our new apt all put together and finding places for my things and for all of the wedding gifts. We also took a date night and went to the Utah State Fair with Joe and Amberly. It was fun! We even spent a dollar each to see the big alligator (We still have no idea why it was worth a dollar lol but we did it-you only live once) that night lol.

October: October was a pretty good month. We were both still really busy with school and work but it was good. We realized this month that we really hated where we were living and began looking for a new apt. So that kept us busy. I also had been thinking about coloring my hair brown for awhile and finally decided to do it. I have liked it, and enjoyed the stress free care, however I still really miss being blonde.
Image
November: November was a very busy but exciting month. To begin with, Kyle came home from serving a full time mission in Ghana Africa! We were so proud of him and all that he accomplished. It was so great to see him! But it was also kind of fun/funny to introduce my brother to my husband...usually the family meets your husband before getting married lol. But it was fun. Shortly after Kyle got home, Whit got to take her endowments out for her to be married. That was a really awesome experience to get to do with Whit. Then a couple of days later Whitnee and Justin were married in the Draper Temple. We were so excited for them! We love Justin! Following all of the festivities it was time for Thanksgiving. We spent Thanksgiving with my Dad and Marilyn's family. It was a really great Thanksgiving and full of family time. We loved it. We even got to eat at Little America for Thanksgiving and then have the big family dinner the next day. Thanksgiving was great. This month Cameron started an amazing new job with the church doing shipping and receiving in the food services dept. He started out part time and then was offered full time hours. It was really such a big blessing in our lives!

December: December was full of activities and just plain busy! Cameron was busy working full time and I was trying to finish up the semester and work, all while trying to get ready for the holidays and still stay sane. Cameron was amazing at keeping me calm and helping me out. I finished up the semester jsut in time for the holidays. We got to enjoy some quality time with Cameron's siblings before they went home for the holidays. We had Jenna and Julia stay with us for a few days. One of the days Chris and Taylor came up and all of us had a mini Christmas where we opened gifts, went to dinner and then went to temple square and saw the lights. It was really fun! Then came Christmas. We got to spend this Christmas with my family. It was busy but fun!Christmas eve we spent with my mom and Jeff. We had a fun night filled with food, family and gifts. It was a great. We started Christmas day out by going to breakfast with Marilyn's family, then went to my moms family, followed by my dads family and then back to Marilyn's family for dinner. It was a long day but really great. And even more great is how much Cameron had spoiled me! He really is amazing! It was a crazy month but very great. To make the month even more crazy, we moved into a new apt. It was such a big improvement over the last one. We have wood floors in the living room and bedroom and then tile in the kitchen. The bedroom, living room and bathroom were all much bigger. The kitchen is insanely small but we make it work. Other than that the apt is wonderful! It really feels like home.

January: January was not quite as eventful but still a good month. I started a new semester at school and was busy with that. Then even better is I received a promotion at work and a raise! It really was a great way to start out the year. To make the month interesting though...we had a pipe burst in our apt and had to have some repairs done...but not before there was a good amount of damage. Our wood floors were warped pretty bad and the wall had to be torn apart. It was in our bedroom too which was such a nice thing to see when you wake up and go to sleep. We did get it all fixed and back to normal though.

February: This month was a really great month. Not anything too major school or work wise for me but Cameron did receive a raise at work. It was a great blessing. Then we had our six month anniversary! It was a really amazing day. Cameron spoiled me with a new set of dishes-but not before spoiling himself with some onesy pj's that looked like a superman suite. Then we spent the day celebrating. We went to lunch and then we went shopping, then we went ice skating at the Galivan Center downtown followed by dinner and dessert. It was a really fun day. Then a few days later we had Valentines day. Cameron again was really sweet and spoiled me. You will have refer to the prior blog post to see what he did. February was a really great month.

March/April: These past couple months were crazy. Cameron was super busy at work preparing for conference. He worked nearly 50 hours a week if not more for more than a month. I was super busy with my job due to my promotion and didnt have much of a social life. Cameron was really patient with me as I worked on keeping my grades up. During conference weekend, I hardly saw Cameron as he had to work that whole weekend. He was one of the many really important people that keep conference running. I had never understood or thought about all that must be done. I really appreciate all the work now. He worked Friday from 5 am to 6:30pm then 3am to 5:30pm on Saturday. I was lucky enough to get to go to his work and eat breakfast with him on Saturday. Then he had to work from 3am to 3pm on Sunday. It was a long weekend and the first time that I had not had him around all the time. It was hard but we made it through it. Finally the middle of April I finished up school for the summer and got all A's! I was really happy. My hard work had paid off. We also got to spend some quality time with Cameron's siblings before they went home to Ohio for the summer. Now onto summer and enjoying life with no homework! And this is the last 9 months of our crazy life!

Valentines Day

Its official I have the cutest and most creative husband ever! I just love that guy! Cameron really knows how to spoil me and be romantic all at the same time. Cameron made Valentines Day really great!

As I was leaving work last night, he text me and said to text him when I was in the parking lot of our apt. So I did just that. I pulled into our garage and on the wall was pink cut out hearts and a note. I got out of the car and read the note.
Image

I followed the clues to my front door. On the front door was another note that had another clue.
Image

After I finished reading the note I opend the front door to find my first gift.
Image

I absolutely love the movie When in Rome! I was so excited that Cameron had gotten me that movie! Following the first gift, I was to find my next clue. In the meantime, Cameron had cut out pink hearts and had them all over the floor as a trail to my clues. It was so so cute!
Image

The next clue led me to our bedroom. The bed and floor were covered in the pink hearts and then I found the next clue and note on my pillow.
Image

After reading the note and following the clue I found the next gift!
Image

Tommy Boy is another one of my favorites! It is one of those movies that you could just quote and quote, and before you know it, you have gone through the whole movie haha.
My next clue led me to the kitchen where I found my next gift. I was so excited! Cameron remembered that I love Mrs. Backer's cake. It is one of my favorite bakeries. So he got both of us a cupcake! They were really cute and looked like daisies-my favorite flower! He really thinks of everything!
Image

My last and final clue led me the living room where the room was candle lit and music playing. Cameron was waiting in the living room for me with a beautiful arrangement of red roses! They were so beautiful. I was so surprised at how much thought and effort he put into making Valentines day so amazing!

Following all of my cute surprises and fun clue hunting, Cameron took me to dinner at Spaghetti Factory! It was such a great dinner-even if we had to wait almost an hour to eat. The whole night was amazing! Cameron really went above and beyond to make the holiday very special. I have the best husband a girl could ever imagine. I love him so much!
