WE LIVE! The theme of this activity is magical girls, a subgenre of anime featuring girls who use magic. For this activity, we made icons of magical girl series. For an extra challenge, we could also icon common themes found in magical girl series (e.g. non human sidekick, transformation outfit, etc).

We're back and better than ever! In addition to some of your favorite makers here at lanieveria, please welcome our newest members alisea_dream, scoobyatemysnax, starkwars, absolutelybatty, and superjesster! We're all so excited to be showcasing the icons made for Activity No. 9.

Presenting the seventh activity, The Four Gods, which is based on Chinese Mythology. These four gods each represent a colour, direction, element and season. Hence our icons represent each of the four gods and their respective colour, direction, element or season. Enjoy! Also I will tag this later, but if you're dying to know a series feel free to ask.

Hey~ Before we talk about the activity I'd like to do something first. Welcome to our 6th activity! For this activity we decided we'd do color palettes based on ice cream flavors! Welcome to activity #4! This activity focuses on under-loved, old school series! Participants were asked to make icons from at least four different years for any anime, manga, or game series that was made in 1995 or earlier. They were also given the chance show how the art for a single series progressed over a number of years. As a bonus, participants could make up to three icons from any series that was made within the past six months.
Hover over the icons to see the series and year. In the event that a maker decided to do an art progression, the year that the image used in the icon was released is listed first, followed by the year that the series started.

Welp, this place has been dead for too long. Hopefully that will change. ;D Here's our second activity which should of gone up months ago but we were holding the icons hostage. Also keep a look out for our third activity coming up! ;3

Yes, that is what we are.
For the second activity the flavors were asked to recommend something they love to you, the watchers of lanieveria. They were told to sell the series to you using the following trope guidelines: a trope that captures the ~essence~ of the subject's set, a trope that describes the protagonist, a spectacle trope, a universal trope, plus 2-6 (different) tropes of their choice. The following are the results. LOVE THESE THINGS AS MUCH AS THEY DO. CHECK 'EM OUT. LOVE THEM. ICON THEM. At the end of the day this is just a ploy to get people into fandoms we like so more people can icon them. Yes, that was always the plan.

LAWD I CAN'T BELIVE WE FINALLY STARTED THIS. I've been working on this comm for a long time, I can't believe we finally started it. :3 Sup we're lanieveria, a multi-maker icon community with an ice cream parlor theme. ;D The comm consists of 12 AMAZING animanga & video game iconmakers that I love with an immense passion. For the very first group activity I asked the flavors to make a rainbow w/ their icons, the catch being they recycled some sort of resource from their previous icon. (lol obligatory rainbow challenge.) I also let them interpret the colors in whatever way they saw fit. (Lbr no one wanted to work w/ pure indigo & violet, THERE WAS A RIOT I SAY.) ANYWAYS LET'S START THIS NOW. WELCOME & ENJOY THE FLAWLESS ICONS BELOW THE CUT. ♥ ♥
