Occasionally funny, but mostly so bad that it gaslighted me into thinking the first one was bad too

Filled to the brim with quick talking quippers and some of the best on-screen comedy chemistry I've seen in quite a while, absolutely loved this!
Just as I thought i was getting tired of all the mockumentary style comedies on TV I see one of the OGs in Real Life and it reinvigorates my love of them all over again. Albert Brooks is so convincing as the narcissistic documentary producer, and the comedy is absolutely timeless here.
This may very well be my favorite Kurosawa film that I've seen. It's tense, despite being an older police procedural film, it takes so many unexpected twists and turns and sprinkles in a lot of themes of class division. Absolute must watch for people who love a good crime drama.
