lewHacks() is the first student-based hackathon in Francis Lewis High School! We aim to provide an opportunity to the best high school developers, designers and hackers in the New York City area to converge, and build some amazing technologies! We hope these hackers will take their projects and go beyond the hackathon, and implement it so that it will have a positive impact on the world!

 

 

 

 

Eligibility

  • Participants: Any high school student with a passion for tech in the New York City area can come and participate in the hackathon. 
  • Mentors: Unfortunately, we are not accepting college students or graduates, but we are accepting non-high school mentors! Check our website for more details.

Requirements

  • Potential - does this project show any future? Are the participants going to continue to work with an integrate it? 
  • Design - how does the project look 
  • Innovation - if this project is new, and what does this bring to the table? What features of this project brings a “wow” to the judges.
  • Usefulness / Impact - does this project help the world in anyway and has the potential of helping the world? 
  • Presentation - how well did the participants pitch and sell their idea?
  • Validity - is this project new? Has the participants worked on this prior to the hackathon? Is there any presence of plagiarism?
