Summer Wrap up

I think I win the award for worst blogger ever. I know I haven't updated since January! Life is busy and the summer was no exception. The kids are back to school in 1 1/2 weeks and
it seems this summer has been one of the fastest we can remember.

It was a wonderful summer full of family time, pool trips and lots of baseball!!

Connor and I (Emily) played in the mornings by ourselves at an empty softball field. Connor's athletic ability continues to amaze me. He is an athlete through and through.

Here are a few pictures I took of him after one of our baseball sessions in 90 degree heat and high humidity.

The kids as always are inventive in the way they entertain themselves.

The 4th of July was great. We had a few parties and events and we continue to feel blessed with the neighbors we live by.

Annabelle and her best friend Easton were able to go to Nickelodeon Live in downtown Charlotte and see : Dora, The Wonder Pets, and others.

I was able to help welcome a new niece into the world with my daughters.

We also welcomed a new nephew, Rowan Arthur McCluckie in England. He was born with major heart problems but continues to fight and amaze doctors with his strength and determination to live.

Sillybandz...need I say more?

It's been fun, stressful and loud and I can't believe that we are almost done with the summer fun. The Fall is going to be a welcome break from this heat but boy oh boy have we had fun as a family.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer vacation too!!

Martin Luther King Day Fun

The kids had a day off and we were not going to sit inside and waste the beauty of the Carolina weather. Off we went for a hike and picnic.


We had tuna sandwiches made fresh on our picnic, blueberries we picked in the summer and granola bars. Just right for our little adventure.

LOVE THIS BOY!

The area we live in is rich with history. As we sat on the bridge, talking about the soldiers and people who must have walked and rode on this old road so many years ago each child made up a story about someone that crossed this way and the outcome of their choice to take this road. Very interesting what young minds can concoct.

As always Annabelle found her own way to traverse the hike, and it was always the other direction from us.

I love trees!

The girls found their walking sticks.

We stopped hundreds of times to look at the beauty of the nature all around us.

Then we were done. A hop, skip and a jump from Connor signified the end of the walk.

Chloe is ever the sensitive one.

It says Dan + Emily =Love

Love is what we made indeed with our 3 beautiful children!

These are the days never to be forgotten.
