Healing begins with you
Tonight in Fairfield County, a teenager feels overwhelmed by a mental health crisis. A mother hides her pain behind a practiced smile. A man steps into the cold believing there is no road back for him. These quiet realities unfold all around us.
This is where the power of your gift begins.
Luis knows this more than anyone.
He spent the coldest months of last year living in a tent after losing his job and his home. Weeks turned into months, and he felt himself slipping away. “My world was collapsing,” he said. “I knew I could do better, but I needed help and couldn’t find it.”
That changed the day he met our Outreach Team. He calls Betsy and Cameron his angels. They helped him enter detox, secure shelter, and begin rebuilding his life. Within months, Luis was working two jobs. Later, he moved into his own apartment.
“Truth be told, I still can’t believe it because I was close to the end. Now my children visit, and we sit down to dinner together, a dinner I cooked in my own place. Liberation literally liberated my soul from the deepest, darkest place I’ve ever been. I’ll forever be grateful for all my angels at Liberation.”
Gifts to Liberation Programs make this kind of healing possible. They open doors to mental health care, treatment, and steady support for people who are trying to find their way forward. They help families reconnect and communities grow stronger.
Together We Can Save Lives. Here’s how:
Your support makes housing, mental health services, effective treatment alternatives and other critical services available for people striving to sustain lifelong recovery.
- Access to Treatment: Many we serve earn too much to qualify for Medicaid yet cannot afford insurance for treatment. We believe no one should be denied treatment because of their economic status.
- Prevention Resources: We educate students and parents throughout Fairfield County to help prevent substance use through workshops, counseling, and community events.
- Community Outreach: Our outreach efforts reach over 2,000 people annually, offering lifesaving various services and resources.
- Family Counseling: Substance use affects entire families. Our family recovery coaches build trust and communication to provide holistic healing for families.
