It's What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, time for a peek at each other's desks and projects! We are now sharing through Sarah, at Sarah's Craft Shed.

I have played in my art room several times this week, and my desk this morning still looks like this!

Image
Amazing! I don't know how long I can keep this up, and it's a little boring...

I did some "tweaking" of my desk arrangement...

Image

We were purging our many cups the other day, and so I brought my favourites that DD had brought from the many places she's been to into my art room. They were perfect for my Posca Pens and other paint pens! And they fit perfectly on my large lazy susan! So I think ths arrangement will do very well, and I can still enjoy my favourite cups!

But here is what I have been working on. Megan Quinlan has a free You Tube Self-Care Journal tutorial that I have been following (only 3 videos so far).

I made the journal, the first page, and the next two pages where I write the things that give me joy. Already these 2 pages give me joy! My DD gave me some Washi Tape for Christmas, one was very shiny so I thought I would use it, but it turned out that it was blobby shapes instead! Very cool, I've never seen that before! So I will be adding to this journal, also I want to make another "regular" journal.

I got $50 (£26.77) in Gift cards for Christmas and my birthday for Michael's (a big nationwide craft store, the only one we have here), and of course, spent ot all at once. It doesn't go very far! But I got a 12x12 scoring board (something I've needed for awhile), some new brushes, some house stamps, and 3 white pens.

Image

These house stamps are so CUTE! I think I will do something with them today!

Yes, we are finally at the end, and here is a photo of Mittsy and Inky playing. Yes, only playing, even though it can sometimes be alarming, they never hurt each other!

Image

Well, that's it for today, Mittsy. Inky and I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Warning: Long post!

Happy New Year everyone! Inky, Mittsy and I hope you all have the best creative times in 2026 !

Image

Well, I missed two weeks with traveling, and hosting etc. Christmas fell on an awkward day this year! But here we are, in a brand new year, all kinds of projects ahead of us. To be able to do those projects I need room on my desk. I was, once again, down to a teeny space to work on, so (as I seem to do every January) I re-organized my desk. It really was a mess! I started on Monday...

Image

and got rid of my big lazy susan storage units which just seemed to take up space, and just used the lazy susan trays with cups and glasses. I bought a make-up lazy susan that was double tiered which fit nicely, and put all my glues on it.

Tuesday: I worked on my markers and paint pens, and tried to get things I actually used a lot closer to me. I wanted to get everything off of my wooden work space.

Image

Image

Wednesday: all done! I will probably tweak it here and there, but so far I like it.

And finally it looks like this:

Image

Woo hoo! I hope I can keep it like this! The glue book in the back is a telephone book, not good for much anymore, so I use it as extra paper for gluing on, and testing markers, etc.

Next, some pages in my journal, which is almost finished. I need to make a new one!

I showed Jasper how to do a Gelli Print. First she drew on the gelliplate with Posca Paint pens, then we put the paint on top, and pulled the print. I don't think she was that impressed...maybe next time! I liked it though. It is the first drawing of something recognizable that I have seen her do, though obviously she is drawing a lot now!

It was my birthday on the 1st, and my DD gave me a lovely gift of stickers, rub-ons, and Mulberry Paper. The gift came wrapped in the paper that I used as a background to the girl beside the Santa, so pretty! And it was tied with a kind of rolled paper rope. they make the ends into a beautiful flower!

Image

Image

so cool! I hope I can use it on a journal page!

And here are some birds I finished off yesterday:

Image

We had a visitor for the past week, I opened the door one morning and it was standing there looking at me! Henrietta the neighborhood wild turkey:

Image

She decided to stay quite awhile,  but I haven't seen her yet today, so maybe she's moved on. Of course the cats were quite concerned...

Image

I will leave you with this photo of Jasper and her Christmas dessert!

Happy new year! Have a wonderful week!

Today is the warmest day we've had for days and days! Above 0 is always nice.

Here is my desk this morning:

Image

In front you can see an invitation to a Christmas Party that we went to last Sunday. I want to integrate it into my journal. I have made all my snowmen watercolours into cards, and given most of them away.

Here is the journal page I did last week using one of those snowmen:

Image

That's it for me today, short and sweet! I will leave you with Mittsy, she loves being under the tree!

Image

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone! I will probably be travelling next Wednesday, so will see you after that. Merry Christmas from Inky, and Mittsy too!

Another ❄️❄️🥶 day! The cats are not even thinking about going outside! But it's nice and warm inside, so that's where I'm going to stay. Here is my desk:

Image

You can see some watercoloured snowmen on it. I followed a You Tube tutorial on these cute snowmen here.

Image

The first one went into my journal, and the other two are now Christmas Cards (my first of the season). The reason the first one has a vest, and the last one has a belt...you probably guessed it! A cover up for a flub! But I like the vest, I may do another one with a vest!

I did a few pages in my journal this week:

Using some of the images I made and cut out last week!

My DD took my granddaughter Jasper to see the Nutcracker Ballet last Sunday! She loved it!

Her dress is gorgeous! I'm sure it will become a December tradition! I hope you all have a wonderful week, we sure are busy this time of year! Meowry Christmas from the kitties!

Another gloomy Wednesday, today with added snow! It's back❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️! We were away this past weekend to an annual (51st!) Christmas Party in Oakville (near Toronto) and went a day early to play with Jasper. More about that later, but here was my desk yesterday...

Image

Inky gets very "clingy" when we go away, so for a few days afterwards, she follows me everywhere needing lots of loving. BTW, her eyes are not blue! She's sitting on the paper that I wanted to work on yesterday, and when she finally left, I was able to do just that. You might see some Christmas Cards on my desk...those are from last year. I still haven't made any this year☹️.

Image

Here are the results:

Image

I'm really enjoying going through my stencils and making pages to cut out and decorate. I'm not sure about the blue one at the bottom though...🤔

And back to playing with Jasper...

Image

We played Megatiles and built a Christmas Tree Castle. I did ask about her hands...she said it was how she takes photos🤭. Future influencer? And I brought a Gingerbread House to decorate with her the next day. Such concentration! And she's the one who immediatly put the candy canes into hearts!❤️

Image

That's it for me today, looking forward (😝) to more snow this afternoon! Have a wonderful week!
