The Beginning
Simon (German) and Khwan (Thai) met at university in Germany.
Simon wanted to learn Thai to connect with Khwan's culture.
“So they built their own”
But here's the thing: there were no good Thai learning apps. Nothing with real native voices. Nothing that actually worked.
They got married, moved to Chiang Mai, Thailand, and started Ling.
The Launch
After years of work, Ling launched on iOS and Android. Real Thai voices. Fun lessons. No boring textbooks
You don't learn a language from robots or textbooks. You learn from real people—how they actually talk, laugh, and live.
That's why every lesson in Ling is recorded by native speakers. Real pronunciation. Real culture. Real connection.
People loved it. Expats, couples, travelers: everyone learning Thai finally had something that worked.
Growth
Turns out, we really loved helping people learn languages. So we kept going, adding more and more languages every year.
Languages that barely exist online-we made them accessible.
