Keynote at Thingscon 2025, Amsterdam
I gave a keynote with Usman Haque as part of our studio HAQUE TAN at Thingscon 2025. Our central thesis being a call for the embracing of uncertainty, underspecification, and unknowability as vital conditions to designing in a world with overlapping crises: ecological, political, social and technological. We need to design architectures, technologies, and cultural infrastructures that welcome doubt, wonder and serendipity so we can reimagine and redesign our futures together. Spaces that are created through processes where you don’t have to agree on everything in order to collaborate. And that our future is plural, not singular, and that multiple perspectives can exist at the same time.
Talk at The Conference 2023, Malmö
I gave a talk at The Conference surrounding the challenge of getting people to participate in changing their environment, and bringing about collective actions using some of my recent projects, and why we should get ourselves messy in creating cities that might work for everyone.
