CODE313 , in partnership with the AI Education Project (aiEDU ), BROADCOM FOUNDATION , and TIES Teaching Institute for Excellence in STEM , will host the FREE Educators’ STEAM Summit on AI Education. This convening responds to the rapidly growing role of artificial intelligence in education and daily life and seeks to harness this momentum to mobilize a coalition of education leaders and ecosystem partners across the Metropolitan Detroit area. Together, we aim to take a leadership role in addressing and closing the AI education gap. This full-day summit will bring together district superintendents, administrators, nonprofit leaders, and key stakeholders to build shared understanding and leadership capacity around AI education. The program will include an overview of the urgent need for AI literacy in education, expert-led panel discussions focused on AI ethics, policy landscapes, AI fluency for growth, and creativity in the age of AI, facilitated regional breakout sessions, interactive Q&A with panelists, and closing remarks centered on actionable next steps. Featured keynote speaker Brad Waid , internationally recognized futurist and emerging technology expert, will open the summit with “Racing the Future: Empowering STEM Learners in an Intelligent Age,” setting the tone for how educators can prepare students for an AI-driven world. Breakout sessions will be led by national leaders including Laura Gray (Raspberry Pi Foundation North America), Terrance R. Campbell (Ohio State University / CODE313) , and Kristen Kayser (aiEDU), providing practical strategies for building AI readiness and instructional transformation. The summit will feature two dynamic panel discussions: “What Educators and Businesses Can Learn from Each Other about Leveraging AI Fluency for Growth” and “Creativity in the Age of AI: Catalyst or Hindrance?” These conversations will bring together cross-sector leaders including Tiffany Taylor (ASU+GSV Summit), Raquel Welch Welch (Founder/CEO, 50Sha8desofLife), and additional education and industry partners to explore AI fluency, ethics, workforce alignment, and the evolving role of creativity in an AI-powered world. Join us as we unite education and industry leaders to ensure equitable access to AI literacy and future-ready learning opportunities for all students. We are still buzzing from the energy at the first-ever Detroit Auto Show / Visit Detroit Interactive Experience! CODE313 was honored to be part of this milestone at the Detroit Auto Show, bringing the next generation of automotive tech to life. We didn’t just talk about the future—we let you step inside it. Using cutting-edge Mixed Reality (MR) and Virtual Reality (VR), we engaged hundreds of youth and adults in a hands-on exploration of the digital garage. What went down at the CODE313 booth: Mechanical Deep Dives: Users went under the “virtual” hood to see exactly how modern engines and systems operate. High-Speed Racing: Feel the adrenaline! Our VR racing sims gave participants a taste of the track without the burnt rubber. Total Customization: From paint jobs to performance parts, attendees designed their dream rides in a fully immersive VR environment. It was incredible to see the spark of curiosity in the eyes of Detroit’s future engineers, designers, and tech leaders. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to innovate with us! “The Detroit Auto Show has always been about what’s next. At CODE313, we’re making sure our community isn’t just watching the future happen—they’re building it.” - Bartel Welch: Executive Director, CODE313 Thank you to Sam Klemet the rest of the Detroit Auto Show team! we look forward to next year! • At CODE313 , impact is more than a moment. It’s more than a workshop, a field trip, or a one-day experience. Impact is what happens years later, when a scholar becomes a leader, when curiosity turns into confidence, and when access turns into a career. This is the heart of why we do what we do. And the stories of Joevell Arnold, Davontay Delacerda, and Noah Rivers are living proof. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gPY_2RuG #learning #training #impact #leadership #code313
