In his presentation at the Innovation in Vehicular Safety Technology session of the 2nd Summit for Automotive Future Advancement in Road Safety (SAFAR), Mr. Alexander Zink, Chief Business Development Manager, Digital Radio, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, discussed emerging warning functionalities and digital radio services. He highlighted that key features and benefits of DRM include greater choice for listeners and built-in emergency warning functionality with automatic alerts. Digital radio, he noted, offers an experience beyond audio entertainment. India has one of the world’s largest digital radio deployments, with AIR already investing in and using advanced DRM features such as exclusive broadcast content and multilingual Journaline information. They included a live demonstration of text to audio and multiple language content creation with AI for the education audio and text services provided as part of distance education. 📻 𝗗𝗥𝗠 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 🌐 DRM partners managed to send transmissions on shortwave 👉 across five continents 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dqPt8txE 📻 Education content was broadcasts on February 13th for the 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗥𝗠 𝗙𝗠! 🎯 In a first of its kind in the world, the DRM South Africa Group officially launched a DRM in FM demonstration and showcase. This was part of the global celebration of radio’s anniversary by DRM in its partnership with UNESCO in support of World Radio Day. The DRM in FM demonstration is a broadcast of a live digital radio signal from a high site in Northcliff, Johannesburg, operating at 70 watts transmitter output. The DRM in FM platform was also used to showcase education focused and informational digital radio content, demonstrating how DRM can support learning, accessibility, and public communication through data services such as Journaline.
