We have a NEW Volunteer partnership & location closer to HQ this time around: Broad Street LOVE - As a Meal Service Volunteer, you’ll help create a welcoming, restaurant-style experience for every guest. All volunteers begin the day with an orientation. Depending on the day’s needs, you may: • Greet guests and serve meals with care • Bus tables and refresh settings to keep the dining room running smoothly • Help with cleanup after service so the space is ready for the next day Through your hospitality and presence, you’ll help ensure every guest feels seen, respected, and celebrated. 10am - 11:30am | Julia Haslanger | City Ave. Room Two weeks ahead of PDE week, everyone will be assigned a sister newsroom to start paying attention to (checking the homepage daily, signing up for a newsletter, following on social, etc.) Over the course of two weeks, you'll take note of things you see them doing. During this session at PDE week, we'll gather with the others assigned to the same newsroom and combine notes, and then we'll share out some opportunities for inspiration to start the new year!

1pm - 2:15pm | Matt Boggie | City Ave. Room To kick off the afternoon, Matt will discuss the year ahead and reveal what's coming up. The last few years have been focused on delivering new capabilities (Squid, BlueWhale, end-to-end data governance and collection, etc.) that are now poised to power significant product experimentation. We'll talk about the roadmap ahead and how we'll meet the moment as a team.

2:30pm - 4pm | Beth Flynn, Matt Boggie, Ben Werdmuller (Senior Director of Technology @ ProPublica) | City Ave. Room We’re welcoming members of ProPublica for a discussion on news product, innovation, and the shared challenges of modern journalism. This session will offer inspiration, cross-team learning, and insights from another mission-driven newsroom. *and potentially other Sales team members

10am - 12pm | Product Operations | City Avenue This session will focus on outlining design sprints for 2026 projects. We’ll discuss which initiatives are strong candidates for design sprints, who should be involved, and whether we can map out a rough cadence for design sprints in 2026: approximately one design sprint every other month. We’ll revisit the purpose of design sprints, brainstorm as a group, sketch out tentative teams, and draft an initial Design Sprint roadmap for 2026.

2pm - 3:30pm | Team Leads | Various Rooms Specific Rooms TBD

3:30pm - 4pm | City Ave. Room We’ll close out our Q1 PDE Week with the announcement of the recipient of our next Golden Potato Award.
