Basically, it means "creating a master file ready for duplication." What we must understand here is that your song might not be ready to sold in stores because it doesn't meet the requirements nor does it compete with similar songs on the market. Mastering means I take your song and make it ready for distribution (Online stores, streaming services, vinyl cut, CD, etc) but if you're aiming to share it do DJs to play in a club, it will deliver proper power to sound solid. In this process, I also make sure your song will sound best on most sound systems (eg. home, car, headphones, mobile, etc). If you have an album, I will make sure there's coherence between all songs as well. This includes fixing issues, balancing, adjusting tone, adding power, width etc. Sometimes, if you wish, I can add color. Digital mastering means I will use plugins to process your digital file. You can send me a reference of a song you like so I can try to match it. This includes 1 revision. What I need from you: - Stereo file, wav or AIFF, 16bits min, 44.1khz min. - Book 1 master per song. If your song is 10 min and up, it will count as 2. - No compression on the master when rendering and make sure there's at least 3 dB of headroom.

Digital Mastering

Sometimes, you need to talk to a pro for a project, challenges, learning, or to get your ideas all together. This product covers a Zoom meeting of 50 min for 1 person. I've been in music production for over 25 years and know both the creative process and music software enough to teach your aunt Loraine or anyone from beginner to professional. My teaching experience started in 1995 when I was teaching to teens so nothing really scares me. What are your needs? We can provide a free consultation for evaluation. The audio will be streamed using Audiomovers technology so you can hear my output in the comfort of your home. You only need an internet connection, a microphone, a webcam (recommended) and Zoom. But you can't make a great master if you don't have a solid mix. Mixing means that all your sounds must find their own place to not cause any issues. A solid mix has already thickness, precision, clarity, punch and will already sound powerful on its own. The mastering will be adjustments and loudness control. When I take your song, I arrange it so it sounds close the top mixes I get for mastering. This will give your song a professional look. Digital mixing means that I will digitally prepare your song so it is mastering ready. It can be transparent or colorful. I can swap sounds to give it the best results. What you get with this service: - 2 digital revisions of your mix. Stems: - This includes room for 20-35 stems. If you have more you can group some or contact me for a price adjustment. Export them with your effects but don't normalize them. 24b / 44.1khz is good.

Mixing means that all your sounds must find their place so as not to cause any issues. A solid mix already has thickness, precision, clarity, and punch and will already sound powerful. The mastering will be adjustments and loudness control. When I take your song, I arrange it to sound close to the top mixes I get for mastering. This will give your song a professional look. Mixing is an art that takes years to grasp, and even after that, you will still learn because of how complex this art is. Mixing is also related to tastes. It's important that you like how your engineer sounds when you book him so the aesthetic will relate to yours. While I mix different genres (Electronic, house, deep house, minimal, techno, jazz, hip hop, pop, and indie rock), I have my style, and we must agree on the results. I made this video to help you understand how I work. Digital mixing means I will digitally prepare your song so it is mastering-ready. It can be transparent or colourful. I can swap sounds to give it the best results. What you get with this service: - 2 digital revisions of your mix. - 1 master (1 revision). Stems: - This includes room for 20-30 stems. Mix & Mastering Digital

This mastering version is an upgraded version of the mastering service I am offering. I decided to provide a new version of my service that will allow me the time and work to go deeper in offering your song the best possible version of itself. What does Premium Mastering offer more? A complete analysis of your song before I start working on it. I will provide an analysis either by mail or video. I'll recommend what you need to change to improve the mix. Depending of your needs, we will decide if we use digital or analog treatment. I can offer a preview of one or the other for you to pick from. This service offers two revisions (regular mastering includes 1). You get priority in my queue for mastering the day's bookings. It is not better than digital mastering, as it gives a unique colour. We often feel it has a hifi/lofi hiss, described best as "a gentle warm blanket." Analog mastering is not better than digital. It is simply a different aesthetic. Digital: Digital mastering is very precise and clean. It is the best option for transparent results. It allows me to use more tools to fix issues. Coloured vs transparent mastering: If you feel your song is lacking life and energy and have the impression it sounds far from your references, it might need colour. That option opens up a free pass for me to take any tool to push the results as far as necessary. In this option, your song will be altered (lightly or heavily). Transparent mastering is for people who are attached to how their song sounds as is and want minimal intervention. It usually involves fixing issues and loudness matching. Please send me a reference for a song in WAV or MP3 format you like so I can try to match it. What I need from you/ How to prepare: - Stereo file, wav or AIFF, 16bits min, 44.1khz (or higher). - Book 1 master per song. This is for a song of 10 min or less. Longer songs will involve extra fees. - No compression on the master when rendering; ensure there's at least 3 dB of headroom (-3dBfs).
