The Visiting Speaker Committee would like to invite you to Professor Emeritus Larry Chartrand's lunchtime talk: Incorporating Indigenous Legal Processes and Laws: Implications for law schools, law societies and governments Law schools need to embrace much more fully Indigenous laws as an essential part of legal education. If legal education is to be truly representative of Canadian law it must be inclusive of all of Canada's three legal traditions, Common Law, Civil Law and Indigenous Peoples' (Cree, Mi'kmaq, Dene etc.). This presentation will discuss how to understand Dene law as a case study within the context of pharmaceutical research to illustrate the need for serious reform within Canadian law schools and the legal profession. Date: Tuesday January 27th, 2026 Time: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Room: LC 237 Light refreshments will be served!
