Gentoo + Perl Modules

Hey all!

How do I emerge perl modules in Gentoo? "emerge" always seems to not be able to find the packages or it claims that they're masked.

Is CPAN the proper way to do this in Gentoo? Or is there a "Gentoo way" to do it?

Sorry, I'm rather sleepy, if none of that made sense, please let me know.
