Firefox in schools?

This probably isn't the perfect community for it, but I figured Linux geeks would have ideas if anyone does. I'm utterly fed up with having to use Internet Exploder to browse the Web when I'm at school. Bringing a LiveCD is an option, yes, but I have the feeling that I'd get in trouble if I got caught with it. So, my idea is to try to convince the district to install Firefox. Does anyone know of school districts that have already done this and where I can find a more bureaucratized version of the argument "You guys have to deal with fewer viruses and spyware infestations, students get a better browsing experience, everyone wins"?
