laptop again
on the very same laptop as before (Toshiba satellite 1800-s274 I got yoper installed.
The install was not nearly as easay or painless as Linare. It fact it made me actively angry. There's no reason for it to be so difficult. It looks like lazy coding.
the resolution was a pain and first boot was like dental work.
Past that it runs ok, but is much smaller than the comporable (ie free and on one iso) linare or a similar instal based on fedora or gentoo or something. Also, it makes the most terrible noises all the damned time. it's like windows with a self esteem problem. Overall not a bad distro, i guess. If you want to do a LOT yourself. It also makes it a bit tough to actually do those things yourself. I'll stick to fedora.
FYI: I got the keyboard key back on, but only via nail glue. Maybe soon I'll scrap it and use it as a digital picture frame.
