Dialup

Okay, I have a quick question ... the telecom companies having decided to mess with my head, I'm not able to get broadband internet access, so I'm stuck with dialup in the DFW area. My Windows/works with everything else account is with EV1, but I never could get it to connect correctly to their network (it would dial out and then give me a message "No connection", even after ranting to one of their techsupps for the DNS numbers and so forth). I searched around and came across Freewwweb, which was free and worked well, but they've since gone to the dark side and are one with the unholy Juno, so needless to say I can't dial out using that account any more.

Is there another service that anyone's run across, or have I just done something silly to keep my EV1 account from working with PPP?
