Adaptec SCSI AHA 2930CU

Ok. So I got some scsi drives and a card from someone who wouldn't use it. I'm currently running SuSE 7.2.

Problem:
Seems that support for the AHA 2930CU has been implemented fairly recently. I found a patch for it from trusty ol' google. implimenting that now. I'm not exactly the best at compiling my kernel, but I should be able to get it. Thing is...
I would like to install Slackware 8.0 on this drive and only mount my IDE drive for my /home partition. Thing is the aic7xxxx boot disk for Slackware 8.0 was made before update to allow access to AHA 2930CU cards, so it doesn't detect it right.

Thing is, how would I go about installing Slack on this SCSI drive? I have my guesses, but I'd like a little advice from people who have a little more experience than me before I try stuff stabbing blindly (blind fighting feat could help).

Anywho. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Edit: Sorry for the double post.
