Verizon DSL

I am not sure if I am doing it right, but I am looking for memory's in this community for setting up a Verizon DSL up and I see no memorys at all. If there is not one, has anyone tried it, or is it a nightmare?. I know in the past no Internet Provider has had Linux instruction's in regards to setting up a connection in linux. I am running Slackware10.1.
