I have been trying to install either Puppy, Feather or Damn Small Linux on my computer.
According to the research I've done, I have the sys reqs to run any of those tiny distros,
not just in console, but with the window manager. However, all installs quit after hardware
recognition. Screen goes black, computer freezes, I reboot. The partitions that the install
created aren't there, I just have an image of the distro in a folder on my C: drive.
(which does me No Fucking Good)
I've tried to boot DSL live, and Knoppix, and they wont even run in console.
No errors, just partial boot menu, black screen, freeze.

I did some looking, and it appears that my processor seems to be the issue.
It's a Cyrix MII 333, and they aren't really x86, they are hacked to sort of "emulate" x86 .
Not an issue if running Windows, but the binaries Linux uses, *apparently* don't like the
limited virtual x86 environment

I did some more looking. I read a few posts on installing RedHat on older PC's with
similar specs to mine and my processor. But, they didn't experience my issues, and
so really, they weren't any help.

If anyone out there can give me a hand with this. I would be One Happy Geek-girl.
