Getting Debian to boot from Compact Flash

A little while ago I sorted out the hardware and built a little mini-itx based system to use as a fileserver with a SATA card and two 250GB hard disks. I want to boot from a Compact Flash card connected to one of the ide channels on the motherboard itself.

Does anyone know of a good HOWTO article, preferably using Debian or a deriviative, as everything I've found so far via Google is a bit patchy?
