do I have to reinstall again?
good evening vast minds of the Linux community,
I made the mistake of installing kubuntu the other day (not that it doesn't look cool), and now it seems like I'm stuck with it. I can't get rid of it! I've tried removing it with apt-get remove, and the ubuntu synaptic package manager. but every time I boot up I am faced with that same treacherous login screen. oh and now it doesn't see kubuntu as "kubuntu" is sees it as "KDE" at the login screen.
it also seems to have usurped the sound from certain applications, like audacity for example but not from the system sounds, like the login looping wind chime sound and the and the little drum sounds.
can anybody help, or give any advise? Stuff to look for or other stuff that has to be reinstalled. if I do an apt-get dist-upgrade, would that fix it?
