Embedded Systems Using Linux
Hello Fellows.
I am considering joining a submersible robot competition team and am interested in learning how to run such a device using Linux. In the past, the team has used Linux, but there are currently no team members with Linux experience, and they were forced to use Windows last year (they still won, somehow ^_~). Still, they'd like to switch to Linux since the boot time of Windows was unacceptable for competition purposes. I've searched around the net and found related sites and literature, but I am interested in your opinions.
Has anyone here ever custom-built a system for such a specialized task? What is the learning curve? What literature have you found valuable? What distributions are especially suited for this task? Anything else I should be aware of?
