Hardened toolchain [x-posted to gentoo]
I have a bit of trouble with something in the hardened FAQ at gentoo.org and was hoping you guys/girls could help me out.

Since pie and ssp are enabled by default in the gcc package, does that mean that every default Gentoo install uses the hardened toolchain by default or do you need to pass "hardened" to your USE flags list (binutils and glibc have an hardened option)?
