I've got U(nix) - under my skin

Let me start by saying that I'm most definitely not a Linux or Unix user by any stretch of the imagination. I've poked around a bit in Redhat, used Solaris on and off for a couple of months, and never done anything serious apart from a gateway box, DNS and FTP servers and a bit of website hosting on Linux. The other 99.99% of the time, I use flavors of BillOS at work and home. I see a bash shell maybe five minutes a month, if that.

So why is it that when I can't click-paste into a terminal window, it's so damn annoying? Why do I grind my teeth when some WinGUI app at work takes forty-seven molasses-slow clicks to do something I could have typed into a command window five minutes ago? Why am I constantly running up against the limits of shell scripting and thinking "I bet a simple regex could... wait, damn" ?

It's this blasted Linux disease, I tell you. Argh!
