Curious name resolution issue
Let me write this up whilst it still fresh in my mind.
I recently posted info concerning my name resolution going AWOL. Well, it did it again.
Yesterday I changed the IP designation from DHCP to static as I was on a network that uses static IPs. I changed it back to dynamic and this morning couldn't resolve any names to IPs and couldn't ping outside the home network.
Upon changing from DHCP to a static IP I could ping outside the home network, but not with names only IP addresses.
Upon changing from the static IP to a dynamic IP again, I can resolve names.
Curious to say the least.
