Shoutcast foo
I got bored so I installed a shoutcast server on my box.
So I now have an itunes server and a shoutcast server running on the same box. The itunes server does a much better job of streaming. I've already noticed the shoutcast server can be chopping if I just move my laptop around. The itunes server uses the actual itunes protocol and gets buffered correctly in the itunes client.
Moving on: I see that when you start the server it connects out to shoutcast.com and announces yourself to them. Then shoutcast.com tries to connect back to you:
{04/08/06@14:35:04} [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave error (nak)
{04/08/06@14:35:04} [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: ###.###.###.###:8000) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out).)
What if you don't want to be listed on shoutcast.com but you want to run a shoutcast server. Is there a way to turn that off?
For now I just changed my sc_serv.conf Yport to a made up port so when it tries to connect to shoutcast.com to announce itself it goes to the wrong port.
