rekall alternative

SO I finally got rekall up and not-running on my system and I must say that after all the work I'm not impressed. I get nothing but python errors (can't fine py library) despite havingthe correct version of python installed properly. So basically I can clearly see how it is intended to work without getting it to work. fun.

I'm not particularly impressed with what a huge pain in hte butt this is. Does anyone have a better application than this to recommend? I suppose just getting python associated right would be a big step forward (or mySQL which is also can't locate properly).

new pet peeve: programs that require specific dependencies and once installed, can't find them again. You saw it ok to install . . . grr.
