New OS

I have to delete my partition due to some ... oversights, so I'm thinking about trying out a few new distributions.

I would like to be able to try them out first as LiveCDs, so my question is which one is your favorite? Right now i'm on MEPIS, and i have an Ubuntu liveCD.

Has anyone tried backtrack?
