Crypto?

What's out there that can encrypt some sensitive information I have? We've got the usual stuff that we feel uneasy about having just lying around, and want to be able to encrypt just a directory. The stronger, the better.

I've got a Windows box connecting via Samba; something that both of us can use would be awesome.
