help with Linux and PVR
Howdy all. So I've been using Ubuntu (dapper) for a while now (after looking in to some other distro's). For the most part very compatible with lots of stuff but two of the biggest annoyances I've come across are issues with my usb PVR. After chasing my tail through a couple of HOW-TO's I really don't have much to show for it. I was hoping someone...anyone could maybe lend a hand.
so the PVR has the Philips saa713X chipset. From what I can tell the 2.6 kernel has drivers for this built in. The latest v4l is in there, and after modprobe/insmod I can see the driver has populated the list via lsmod, but nothing new shows up in /dev/. Is there a step I'm missing? am I looking for the wrong thing?
