Hello everyone. I'm getting ready to build a computer, which will have both Windows XP and Linux partions. I've never run Linux on my own hardware before, so I wanted to make sure the parts I want will be compatible. This is my shopping list so far (well, the important stuff):

Subject to change is the motherboard, which may become an MSI something or other. Will I have problems running Linux on this hardware?

Also, can anyone recommend a distro for me? I've used SuSE at work in the distant past, but in text mode only. I've only have brief encounters with a windowing environment with Knoppix.
