Newbie to using Linux

I just recently installed a new distro of Fedora Core to a Dell Inspiron 7500 laptop (PIII 700 Mhz). It's working, I guess, but I still know how to do very little. A friend got it connected to the internet using the hard-wired internet pcmcia card, but I am stuck getting the wireless care to work if encryption is turned on. Can anyone suggest a few good references to me to read/refer to in order to expedite my learning how to make the most if this?
