hey guys, what is "gnome-sound-properties" a frontend for? i need to be able to switch sound cards at will and i'm not using gnome anymore so it's giving me problems.

as an aside, the ubuntu wiki really should start giving explanations for how everything works (because i'd like to be an informed user, but would like to avoid reading source code).
