open source voting

A lot of people are interested in open source voting nowadays (for obvious reasons). Whether or not this is a good idea remains to be seen (I think it is, but I am certainly not all knowing) but what I'm wondering is if anyone knows of any such pprograms or projects?

Or even a small time voting program that one could base a larger one on (which is my new project till I get bored with it).
