reminders and gnome

What does everyone use for popup reminders in gnome? I like kalarm, myself, but it's tricky to get it to run in gnome. I want to get somehting for my collectors (all running ubuntu dapper gnome desktops) and everyhting I'm finding is a bit in depth for them (ie runs on the command line or takes a bit of setup). I'd rather they all not use evolution for just reminders. seems like a huge waste of processing power.
