Two problems:

1) For the life of me, I can't get Ubuntu to install on new box. It's an ASUSTek P5LD2, 512MB ram, 2.66mhz P4 proc. The install disk seems to time out when setting up the boot partition, drops into a 'launching kernel' comment, then stops cold. It's particularly madening because: a) according to users at Ubuntu the board works flawlessly with Ubuntu. b) I can get SuSE10.0 to install nearly perfectly.

2) When I get SuSE 10.0 to install, for some reason NONE of the USB ports work. If you go to the hardware section of Yast, you see them... but if you try to fire up an external drive? No dice. I have no idea where to go with this one... Whenever I've had this problem in the past, I've just gotten a PCI card... This isn't really an option this time around as I'm using the two other PCI slots, and are left with only two PCIe slots... and apparently they don't make USB cards for the PCIe slots.
