replace home directory
OK, I'm pulling my hair out here.
I had a user who was having weird keyboard signals. Whatever. I couldn't track it down so I figured I'd just delete her and re-add her.
So I delete the user. No problem. But it was a user only issue, so I got rid of her home directory as well.
Then I add her as if she's never been on the system.
And I can't log in as her. Great.
So I tried moving her home dorectory over from our backup machine. No luck. It loaded just fine and the permissoins and ownership look good, but I get error after error when I log in and basically gnome sits. No pannels, so I have to kill the login.
ANybody know what the hell is going on here? When I logged her in normally I got errors and when I replaced her home directory I got errors. What the hell am I supposed to do here? I can delete her home dorectory again and delete the login and readd her, but then I'll be back where I started. Is there some reason this isn't working?
