Beryl + Window Placement Issue

Every new window that comes up is always behind either its parent, or all current windows in the viewport. I don't see anything in regard to this in beryl-manager or beryl-settings-simple, or in emerald at all.

Any way to fix this? It's a huge nusiance.

I'm running Edgy Eft (Server), KDE, and the latest version of everything.
