Rotating photos

Hey -

I am using Kubuntu 7.04, and I am having an issue when it comes to rotating photos.

These are photos, that are about 1meg each. Once I get them off the memory card, I usually fire up Picasa to remove the red-eye and rotate them. They show rotated in Picasa (the photo itself, and the thumbnail), but when I go into the folder in Konqueror, they are still sideways. If I click it, and load it in GIMP, it loads sideways too.

I use KPhotoAlbum to do the batch resize, and then even show up sideways as well. So, back in Konqueror, I manually select the ones needed, and rotate (conter)clockwise. Ok, now we're good. Back in KPhotoAlbum, I run the resize to a new folder. Now the resized photos are sideways (the one's that needed rotated in the first place).

WTH?

Is there a driver that I am missing? Or, do I need a better set of graphics tools?
