Mini Mouse In A White Dress
Okay, after much pain and frustration I now have an inelegant workaround for the [bleeping] Black Mouse problem. Maybe I shouldn't have referred to it as Mouse Vader, but Minnie Mouse. Unfortunately Minnie doesn't show up well on my black background when she's naked, hah.
The workaround involves Fedora Bluecurve Themes For KDE
With an ordinary white mouse theme in Slackware, the mouse reverts to black for some odd reason whenever I launch a Wine application. The "fix" proposed by using cursor.pcf.gz does not fix it. With the Bluecurve Inverted FC4 and FC6 KDE mouse themes, I can correct this GLITCH (and it is a glitch) by launching Konsole, then exiting, which then presents me with a white mouse again in KDE. It is not perfect because 1) the mouse cursor is very tiny and I was used to using the Whitelarge theme and 2) It's klugy and inelegant. I checked the MARC pages which discusses linux problems, and apparently there is not a simple way to use an inverted large mouse in KDE yet like there is in Windows. I do not know what MARC stands for and I'm too sick and tired of hunting down stuff to Google it. If anybody actually knows how to permanently fix this glitch then 'splain it to a n00b if you like. I almost hate to say it, but propz to M$ for making things easier for blindies. Perhaps Inverted Large Mouse can be done in Gnome easily, but I AM NOT SWITCHING TO GNOME KTHX KDEPOWER4EVER.
Bleh, I feel all n00bish now admitting that I don't know Jack about how X actually works. But at least I can put Minnie in a white dress whenever I want to.
