Oracle 10g and ubuntu
I got the oracle 10g client loaded on ubuntu. That much works fine. When it starts it's asking me for nls_lang.sh, but I'm not sure that's a big problem, as it seems to run just fine without.
However, I'm not sure how to log onto the server I want.
On a windows machine (the only kind of box I've ever worked with using sql) I'd edit tnsnames.ora, but I do not have a file called tnsnames.ora, nor do I have that file anywhere on my system. I'm not sure how to set up the config file to make it work. I suppose I could just cave and try to run it in wine, but that seems like a cop out.
Anyone? This shouldn't be hard. Geeks do it all the time. Just not me, I guess.
