Fedora 7 installer graphics problem
Yesterday I decided I would try out Fedora 7, but unfortunately I can't get the installer to load because my graphics card is evil. I have an XFX Geforce 6800XT AGP 256MB video card, and it works fine in most cases but for some reason it doesn't cooperate with the nv X module. Normally I can use the generic vesa driver temporarily while I download and install the proprietary drivers from Nvidia. This works on my Ubuntu machine, but the Fedora installer detects my card and applies the nv module automatically. This means that instead of seeing the nice shiny graphical installer I just get a garbled mess of green nonsense.
What I'd like to know is whether or not anyone knows how to set the installer to use the vesa driver rather than automatically detecting my video card when it starts up. I suppose I could just use the text based installer and then set up the video once I had that finished, but part of the reason I wanted to try out Fedora was to test out its shiny graphical installer.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
