Making a PC present itself as a USB mass storage device...

I have a spare PC lying about with harddrive space. I also have a DVD player which is capable of reading USB hard drives and flash memory (it actually has a usb 2.0 port on it).

What I want to do is run the machine headless as a server with an SMB share on it. But at the same time, I also want to serve out the contents of the share over USB to the DVD player, for all intents and purposes having the DVD player see the computers HD as an external USB hard drive.

Has anybody thought about this before?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
