Ubuntu Remastering & liveCD creation
Hello!
Sorry I bump into this forum so suddenly to just to beg help from you guys, but I have a minor (or not so) problem.
See, I'm using Ubuntu Linux, and I'll have to make a live cd from the existing system. The problem is that I'm using Gnome interface, and the interface I have to have on the CD is Blackbox (which I have installed on my computer) and I'll also have to have two other programs on the CD too (which is also on my computer), and NOTHING else. The computer I'll be using the CD on has 256 megs of RAM, very little of hard drive, and the system will have to run from CD, AND the user cannot get access to the files outside the /home/anon/ folder, so just backing up this system is out of the question.
I've gone through several sites, some of them giving advices on how to remaster an existing liveCD, and some advices on backing up an existing system (remastersys comes to mind here), but nothing I've read really tells me anything about how to make a working system and being picky about the packages to be selected to that system. And needless to say, I haven't succeeded on using any of the advices I've seen and tried, successfully.
So, what I'm thinking about is apparently something that can be done in Gentoo Linux (which I haven't tried a single time, since I'm an effin' n00b), but I'm not sure about Ubuntu.
Am I trying to do the impossible here? And if not, HOW do I do it? Does anyone have any references to websites, or any advices at all?
