Easy way to enter unicode?

I'm accustomed to using emdashes and ellipses a lot in my web forum posts. Since I do most of that from Windows machines, I've gotten in the habit of hitting Alt + numpad 0152 for the emdashes and 0133 for the ellipses while typing.

Is there a fast way to do that kind of thing under Linux?
